The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts kicked off its American Artists' show at the 33rd Street Armory on Thursday, October 17th, with a preview gala for patrons. Guests browsed the artists' works and nibbled at the sumptuous snacks heaped upon tables all through the showfloor. The preview gala was organized by the tireless Women's Board of PAFA and chaired by Nancy Guthrie.

Knit Wit and Danielle Scott, Ltd. hosted a cocktail party for their favorite clients and friends on Wednesday, October 9th at their new, shared store on Walnut Street. Knit Wit moved across the street from their old location next to Border's Bookstore, while Danielle Scott, Ltd. moved from her location next to Sophy Curson on 19th Street. Now, with both the stores in the same space, you can find a complete outfit all at once – clothing, shoes, jewelry and handbags. Good move! The fourth annual PAFA wine auction, held at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts museum on Friday, September 27th, featured wines of New Zealand and Australia. Astrid Bowlby had an outlandish and clever exhibit of various, cut-out, black, outlined shapes and sizes stuck to the walls, corners, and floors of a room on the first floor. Unless you were strictly business and spit out your wine after tasting it, that room was a little disorienting.
