On Saturday, November 12, 2011, the National Museum of American Jewish History held a gala at its new building on Independence Mall. The party highlighted events and accomplishments made in the museum's first year. Guests viewed birthday wishes sent from Bill Clinton, Joan Rivers, Diane von Furstenberg, World B. Free and the Phillies Phanatic. The menu was designed by culinary masters Stephen Starr, Michael Schulson, Steve Poses, Michael Solomonov, Dianiel Stern, Audrey Claire Tachman and Marc Vetri. On Friday, November 11, 2011, CORA Services hosted its annual Champions for Children Celebration in honor of its 40th anniversary. Proceeds from the event benefited the CORA Services mission: to assist children and families experiencing emotional, academic and social challenges which impede development and productivity. On Thursday, November 10, 2011, the Bridgette Mayor Gallery celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a celebratory event at the renovated gallery space on Washington Square. The gallery had been closed for much of 2011, but this re-opening event kicked off their fall exhibition "Karmic Abstraction," which displays 23 different works by nationally and internationally recognized artists. On Thursday, November 10, 2011, the Please Touch Museum honored contributing individuals and organizations at their annual Great Friends to Kids Awards. Guests enjoyed food prepared by Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix while watching videos on the award recipients and participating in a silent auction. On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, Philadelphia magazine and BMW hosted the fourth dinner in the Restaurant Club Dinner Series: All About Wine. The event, held at Paramour at the Wayne Hotel, featured an intimate sit-down dinner prepared by Chef Michael Giampa, who prepared an inventive four-course menu.
