On Sunday, October 16, 2011, guests gathered to help at Memorial Hall of the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park for the Friends of the American Cancer Society's annual event. On Saturday, October 15, 2011, the Philadelphia affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure held its 10th Annual Pink Tie Ball. The event raised more than half a million dollars for breakthrough research and to empower the fight against breast cancer. The party was held at the new Vie banquet facility and the celebration featured unique auctions and an all-star concert by The Crystals, Marvelettes, Shirelles, Tony Grandberry and Anthony Riley. On Tuesday, October 18, Bill and Amy Green hosted a gluten-free dinner at their home to benefit the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA).Guests were treated to gluten-free food provided by Marc Vetri, as well as demonstrations from Chef Walter Balkiewicz (Amis) and Monica Glass (10Arts Bistro & Lounge). The event also featured a silent auction and wine tasting.

On October 15 and 16, 2011, Philadelphia magazine partnered with 14 luxury residences throughout the city and suburbs to offer complimentary tours of the most impressive condos, rentals, and townhomes in the region.
