Denim nightclub hosted the Bikini Beach Bash on Thursday, July 24th, complete with celeb attendees, like DJ Jazzy Jeff, a gaggle of girls from the Philadelphia Charge, and a sprinkling of Sixers and Eagles players. At the end of the night there was the official bikini contest, which quickly turned into what appeared to be a strip contest as the girls shed those pesky bikinis atop the bar. Sorry guys, out of respect for innocent bystanders there is no photographic record of that.

As part of a month-long summer music concert series, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra performed on August 7th in Rittenhouse Square. The free concert was attended by couples lolling on picnic blankets with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, young marrieds with a baby or two covered in ice cream dribbles, and the occasional jogger, annoyed by the throngs blocking the pavement.

The Global Interdepence tk held its annual dinner at the Four Seasons. Since they put it so eloquently, this is their story: "The GIC is a non-profit organization that recognizes the increasing economic and political interdependence of nations. GIC is committed to the expansion of global trade, believing investment and finance in a sustainable free trade environment is a positive instrument for reducing international tensions and improving worldwide living standards." Oh. Is that all?

The Best of Philly party was held at the National Constitution Center on Monday, July 28th. Presenting sponsors were Mercedes-Benz, Viking Range Corporation, Peirce-Phelps, Inc., and Fleet Bank. KYW Channel 3 broadcast the fun on live television coverage.
