On November 13, 2010, Eagles kicker David Akers was honored with the first Luminary Award, a commendation given by the Little Rock Foundation, a group who helps blind and visually impaired children. The event was hosted at the Crystal Tea Room by CBS 3’s sports director, Beasley Reece, and meteorologist Kathy Orr. Guests enjoyed cocktails, a sit-down dinner, and an exclusive silent and live auction.

On Saturday, November 13, 2010, Episcopal Community Services hosted Sharing the Harvest: Together We Can Make It Happen at the Pyramid Club. Guests enjoyed an elegant reception, live music and an exclusive live auction. The live auction was led by Roger LaMay of WXPN and featured a day sailing trip for 22 people on the impeccably restored vintage Black Watch yacht in Newport or the New York Harbor, VIP box seats in the Phillies’ own Box 35 and a one-week vacation at a 5-bedroom home in Maine. A Fund-a-need item allowed donors to underwrite children’s educational programs at ECS St. Barnabas Mission, a homeless shelter for women and their families. Photography by Abdul Saleyman

On November 13, Virtua hosted its 6th Annual Women’s Health Symposium at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. More than 1200 women enjoyed information sessions, panel discussions, health screenings and a special presentation by talk show host Rachael Ray.
