On Wednesday, November 17, 2010 Henry A. Davidsen, Master Tailors & Image Consultants successfully kicked off a three month-long suit drive to benefit Backonmyfeet.org and Menzfit.org with a happy hour at The Union League of Philadelphia. Guests were asked to donate gently worn suits or other professional attire to be given to Backonmyfeet.org and Menzfit.org. Along with complimentary Bluecoat cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, those who donated garments received a 20 percent discount on new custom tailored suits purchased from Henry A. On November 16, Philadelphia magazine kicked off the Rittenhouse Row Luxury Dinner Series, presented by Infiniti. The first of three dinners was held at local Italian gem, Le Castagne, where guests enjoyed a three-course, truffle-inspired menu prepared by Executive Chef Brian Wilson.

On Friday, November 15th, Widener University announced the official launch of “Taking the Lead – The Campaign for Widener,” a $58 million, seven-year fundraising initiative to strengthen the university’s growing national reputation as a premier institution for leadership education, civic engagement, global awareness and academic excellence. Widener President James T. Harris III unveiled the amount of the campaign at a gala for key university donors and supporters at the Four Season Hotel in Philadelphia. He also announced that the campaign had already raised $32 million toward the goal in the three-year “silent” or non-public phase.

The eighth annual “In Fashion!” luncheon and fashion show featured co-founder of Vera Bradley, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and her Winter 2010 Collection. It took place at Gulph Mills Golf Club on Monday, November 15, 2010 and for the second consecutive year, all the models were cancer survivors. Lindi Skin founder and CEO Lindy Snider shared her story of cancer survival, featured designer Bradley Baekgaard spoke about her Collection and her connection to the Cancer Support Community of Philadelphia’s mission, and event co-chairs Tisa Baena and Joanie Hall (Bradley Baekgaard’s daughter) made sure the event ran smoothly and successfully. Eleven models proudly displayed their Vera Bradley signature handbags, and Tory Burch outfitted them as an audience of over 160 enjoyed lunch and the show.
