On Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Academy of Music, guests walked down the red carpet with the stars of the Pennsylvania Ballet. They also had the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items like the chance to watch a performance from the wings, or a walk-on role in “George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.” Cocktails and a silent auction in the Academy’s exquisite ballroom were followed by dinner on stage with the dancers. The White Tie Ball, which took place on March 11, 2011, at the Bellevue, is an elegant evening of fine dining, designer cocktails, live entertainment, style and philanthropy. On March 5, 2011, guests attended a preview of the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show at the Philadelphia Convention Center. A blooming Springtime in Paris greeted guests with a bucolic park scene along the Seine. Flowering trees, lilacs, roses and borders of lavender led visitors through gardens inspired by the Tuileries. On March 5, 2011, guests gathered at the Please Touch Museum to attend the 2011 Red Ball hosted by and in support of the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
