On Sunday, February 22, 2009, Moet & Chandon, the exclusive champagne of the Oscars, hosted an Oscar screening party. Over 100 guests donned their most stylish cocktail attire to walk the red carpet before settling in to watch this year’s winners. On Saturday, February 21, 2009, the Pennsylvania SPCA hosted their 3rd Annual Good Dog Gala benefit. Animal lovers and supporters of the Pennsylvania SPCA gathered to celebrate individuals, rescue groups, news media and corporations who have made the biggest difference in the lives of animals throughout the Philadelphia region. On Thursday, February 19, 2009, the Cezanne and Beyond Opening Gala was held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This exhibition explores the vital role of Paul Cézanne in the history of modernism and his influence on other artists into the 21st century. Featured are a selection of paintings, watercolors and drawings by Cézanne, displayed alongside works by artists for whom Cézanne has been a central inspiration.
