On Wednesday, February 27, 2008, radio personality John DeBella of WMGK hosted the 1st Annual Comfort Food Fest at the Cescaphe Ballroom. Philadelphias top chef were challenged to recreate their favorite comfort foods by adding their expertise and creative flair to products found on the grocery store shelves. Participating restaurants included Brasserie Perrier, Kildares, Lacroix, Oceanaire Seafood Room and Positano Coast.

On Tuesday, February 26, 2008, Main Line Jaguar and Philadelphia magazine presented "The Luxe Life Experience," an exclusive party to launch the new 2009 Jaguar XF at the Jaguar Main Line showroom in Wayne, PA. More than 200 attendees previewed the new Jaguar XF and sipped cocktails provided by Froggy B Vodka, Gretz Beer Co. and Yellowtail. Guests tried on exquisite watches from Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelers while models displayed the latest sportswear from Carol DeYoung and evening wear from Van Cleve.

On Saturday, February 23, 2008, the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art held its 55th Annual Winter Gala at the museum. Inspired by the Museum’s Frida Kahlo exhibit, the gala celebrated the art, culture and cuisine of Latin America. About 500 guests enjoyed dancing, Latin-inspired food, and a raffle and auction as they browsed the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Proceeds from the gala will help the Young Friends acquire works of art for the Museum’s permanent collection.

On Saturday, February 23, 2008, the PSPCA held its second annual Good Dog Gala at the Loews Philadelphia. Guests brought along their canine companions to the cocktail reception, dinner and silent auction. The event raised money for the SPCA and recognized individuals who have helped in the fight to end animal cruelty. Among the honorees were district attorney Lynne Abraham and CBS3 reporter and meteorologist Carol Erickson.
