On Saturday, May 1, 2010, more than 65,000 people gathered on Walnut Street, from Broad to 19th and Rittenhouse Square, for the annual Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival. Guests enjoyed outdoor cafes, entertainment, live music, a fashion show, culinary and mixology demonstrations, and cocktail, beer, and wine stations. Guests also viewed the all-new Infiniti M. On Friday, April 30, 2010, Steppingstone Scholars hosted a Step into Spring Gala at the Please Touch Museum. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the carousel, a silent and live auction, dinner, dancing, and entertainment by Steppingstone Scholars alum Tim Spady and music from The Edge. On Thursday, April 29, 2010, Cokie Roberts, Jerry and Marciarose Shestack, and Henry Lafayette Collins III were honored at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s Founder’s Award dinner, “A 1910 Celebration.” More than 200 guests helped to raise $150,000 for the Society as it commemorated its 100th anniversary at its location on 13th and Locust Streets. On Friday, April 23, nearly 200 art enthusiasts, including art collectors, community and business leaders and artists, filled Main Line Art Center’s galleries for its annual Fine Art Sale Preview Party. In addition to providing the first pick of the art in the Fine Art Sale, the Preview Party is also the Art Center’s major fundraiser of the year, raising critical support for its award-winning arts education and community outreach programs. Main Line Art Center is proud to be one of the leading visual arts organization in the region to make art accessible to diverse groups in our community through a series of outreach programs for under-served audiences including children, teens and adults with disabilities, at-risk children and low-income adults and families. This year’s event also honored Mary Anne Dutt Justice for her longtime efforts to build community-wide support for and knowledge of the visual arts. Guests indulged in hors d’oeuvres and cocktails by Jimmy Duffy Catering, including a special Art-Tini, and enjoyed the sounds of swing band The Lounge Experience. This years event, on April 23, was smashing with over 100 guests attending the Social 2010. Parents and teachers nibbled on a burger and slider bar & cupcake/candy bar from Antione Armani Chocolates, sipped Huckleberry Lemonade and this years auction hit record setting fund raising for The Gateway School.
