On Monday, October 27th, newcomer Ciroc Vodka held a launch party at the new PAFA building on Broad Street. Ciroc decked the room out in bright blue uplighting and giant white couches from NYC. There was an open bar, martini stations and taste testing comparisons with other upscale vodkas.
 
The Young Friends of the UPenn Museum hosted their annual Wines of Antiquity winetasting on Thursday, October 23rd. The wines tasted were actually made within the past few years – but there were lectures given on ancient Roman wines.
 
Late at night, when the sidewalks appear empty, there is actually plenty going on behind closed doors. This night, Saturday, October 18th, at Denim nightclub, we went undercover with our camera and documented a slice of late night Philadelphia – partiers shall remain nameless in this little foray…
 
North Bar and Lounge threw a one year anniversary bash on Friday, September 19th at their digs on South Street. The bar was jampacked with hot and hip young things in hiphuggers, tummy-baring shirts and other Britney Spears-like attire. Well, at least the women were.
 
The Philadelphia Orchestra kicked off its new season on Wednesday, September 17th, celebrating their new conductor, Christoph Eschenbach, with a black-tie gala dinner and concert featuring classical cellist Yo Yo Ma. As always, the Kimmel Center threw an elegant cocktail hour in the open ground floor. Restaurant Associates served up their usual high-brow yet crowd-pleasing fare at tables adorned with branchy floral arrangements in square vases done by Evantine Designs.
