Late at night, when the sidewalks appear empty, there is actually plenty going on behind closed doors. Yes, there are 20 photos from the Henri David Ball. We took 25, and couldn't bear to cut these. As it was last year, the ball was held at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza and most people were in full costume. Great party!

Neiman Marcus hosted a benefit for the Children's Crisis Treatment Center (CcTC), wine tastings by Antinori, and tasting menu prepared by La Famiglia, Le Castagne, and Ristorante Panorama. 100% of the proceeds benefit Children's Crisis Treatment Center. The Philadelphia Orchestra kicked off its new season on Wednesday, September 17th, celebrating their new conductor, Christoph Eschenbach, with a black-tie gala dinner and concert featuring classical cellist Yo Yo Ma. As always, the Kimmel Center threw an elegant cocktail hour in the open ground floor. Restaurant Associates served up their usual high-brow yet crowd-pleasing fare at tables adorned with branchy floral arrangements in square vases done by Evantine Designs.

Former Tangerine chef, Christopher Painter, heads up the kitchen at Stephen Starr's latest addition to the Philadelphia restaurant scene, Angelina. The new eatery features genuine Italian cooking, as opposed to fusion or Americanized versions of Italian dishes. The gorgeously designed space at Seventh and Chestnut was done by designers Owen Kamihira and Jun Aizaki. Check out the inviting bar with its wall o' wine for a pre-dinner cocktail. This spot is hot!
