On Tuesday, November 15, Philadelphia magazine and PA Wine & Spirits Stores presented the 2011 Philadelphia Whiskey Festival at the Crystal Tea Room at the Wanamaker Building. Guests tasted an elite collection of spirits including whiskey, bourbon, scotch, tequila, vodka, and more. The evening also featured the debut of Smirnoff’s two newest flavors – Fluffed Marshmallow and Whipped Cream, The Manhattan Experience—a Woodford Reserve® inspired manhattan competition, a meet and greet and bottle-signing with Fred Noe—Master Distiller and the great grandson of Jim Beam, a chance to shake hands with living legend and Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson, and an array of gourmet food samplings from local upscale restaurants. On Monday, November 14, 2011, Jimmy Rollins hosted Havana Nights, a Cuban-themed fundraising gala at the National Constitution Center. Friends of Rollins from the MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL along with musicians, actors and television personalities were in attendance for the culinary event which highlighted dishes from Cuba Libre. The evening also featured fine cocktails, a Cuban salsa band, dancing, an auction and other entertainment. Proceeds from Havana Nights benefited Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania.
