On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Free Library of Philadelphia hosted a holiday gala to celebrate the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. The festive event also honored local benefactor (and Dickens aficionado) Peter A. Benoliel. Photography by Kelly and Massa Photography.
 
On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, guests gathered in Rittenhouse Square to kick off the holiday season. The Square was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a 35-foot Christmas tree, a visit from Santa, a performance by the Mummers, and more. Throughout the evening, guests explored the Infiniti QX and G37 Sedan, the ultimate gifts on anyone's wish list, and entered to win a $250 gift certificate to Le Castagne. On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, committee members and other executives involved in the Black Tie Tailgate met to taste the Stephen STARR Events menu for the upcoming 2012 gala. On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, the Philadelphia Museum of Art hosted a tree lighting and served tasty treats to introduce the museum's holiday offerings.
