The annual Bastille Day Celebration of the Alliance Francaise de Philadelphie was celebrated on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Independence Seaport Museum. The Ambassador of the Arts Awards was given this year to Anne Ewers, the President and CEO of the Kimmel Center. Ewers was celebrated in recognition of her efforts with the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, which was a three-week event focused on France. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner, music and dancing, as well as a silent auction and an opportunity to receive two round-trip tickets to Paris through the raffle. In honor of his memory, Ray Kot was celebrated at The Palm Restaurant on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 with an special ceremony and the unveiling of his caricature. Mark Juliano of Marina Bay Sands of Singapore and Paul Sandler of The Palm Restaurant joined together to honor Ray Kot and his son Drew, who is attending George Washington University this fall. Philadelphia Magazine and BMW hosted a dinner for the Restaurant Club Dinner Series: All About Wine at Mitch Prensky's restaurant, Supper, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. The Party in the Park event on Sunday, July 10, 2011 combined dinner and cocktails with entertainment by Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winner Marvin Hamlisch along with Martin Short, Brian Stokes, and Mark Nadler. This night at The Mann featured the PECO Pops and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and a champagne reception with the artists after the show. Phillies players Cole Hamels, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino all came out on Friday, July 8, 2011 for Philly Financial Day. The players arrived to represent their charity foundations and traveled to each financial institution who contributed. Some of the sponsors who supported the fundraising efforts included Janney Montgomery Scott, The Philadelphia Stock Exchange and Boenning & Scattergood.
