On Thursday, June 11, 2009, the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson held an Inaugural Ball in Memorial Hall at the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park. Honoring Senator Arlen Specter and The American Cancer Society, the event raised money for cancer research. Guests enjoyed a reception, dinner, and live entertainment. Photography by Jeff Fusco.
 
On Thursday, June 9, 2009, Brian Kappra of Evantine Design, and David Hall, director of catering and conference management of the Loews Hotel, hosted a party at the Loews Hotel to recognize the launch of Eddie Bruce Music. The night sparkled with great guests, food, beautiful décor, and a spectacular view of the city. Eddie Bruce honored Kappra and Hall by donating funds in their honor to send a child to Golden Slipper Camp in the summer of 2009. Photography by Sharla Feldscher
 
On Monday, June 8, 2009, The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton celebrated the dedication of the extravagant new 48-story condominium. City officials and Ritz-Carlton employees gathered to cut a Philadelphia-themed cake and toast the tallest and most expensive residential building in the city, estimated to cost more than $300 million. On Saturday, June 6, 2009, more than 1,500 participants ran a 5K in honor of Philadelphia's police officers, firefighters, and correctional officers who have died while serving the city. Proceeds of the race will go to the Survivor’s Fund. Photography by Philadelphia Police Officer John Murphy.
 
On Friday, June 5, 2009, The G. Fred DiBona, Jr. Memorial Foundation, also known as Fred's Footsteps, held its third annual Party in The Park in Franklin Square. The event, which was sponsored by the SEI Wealth Network, featured a cocktail reception, buffet dinner, dancing, a raffle, and a live auction. Guests included Mayor Michael Nutter and co-anchor of NBC 10 News Tim Lake, who served as auction host for the night.
