On Friday, May 16, 2008, The Wellness Community of Philadelphia hosted Evening in the Park, a beach-themed party that honored Betty Rollin, TV journalist and breast cancer survivor, and Jill Durovsik, former chairman of the board and founding member, at The Suzanne Morgan Center in West Fairmount Park. On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, Aldo Lamberti, owner of Positano Coast, and critically acclaimed chef Pippo Lamberti hosted the re-launch of Sopra Lounge, the open-air bar on the second floor of the restaurant. On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and Philadelphia magazine presented the Seventh Annual Philadelphia Wine Festival 2008 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Guests enjoyed nearly 200 of the worlds finest wines and dishes from some of Philadelphia's finest restaurants. Benefited the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, a Black Tie and Boots Ball was held to honor the Bryn Mawr Hospital Community and to celebrate the Emergency Department expansion. Guests, clad in cowboy boots, were invited to cocktails and a buffet dinner at Ardrossan, one of the Main Line’s expansive estates. Proceeds benefited the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Foundation.
