On Wednesday, September 15th, the city's top chefs joined together in Northern Liberties to support the arts. The event, co-hosted by Audrey Claire Taichman, Michael Solomonov, and Stephen Starr, featured performances by renowned contemporary performing artists, exquisite cuisine, and silent and live auctions. Guests also experienced the progressive luxury of Audi and set their sights on the new 2011 Audi A8 and the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder. All proceeds benefited the Philadelphia Live Arts and Philly Fringe. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair received the 2010 Liberty Medal in recognition of his steadfast commitment to conflict resolution. President Bill Clinton, Chair of the National Constitution Center, awarded the prestigious medal to former Prime Minister Blair at a public ceremony on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7 p.m., at the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall in Historic Philadelphia. On Saturday, September 11th, the Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance hosted its annual Black Tie Gala in conjunction with the 14th annual concours. The event took place at the Radnor Hunt clubhouse on Providence Road in Malvern, PA. The concours itself occurred the following day, Sunday, September 12th. Proceeds went toward the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital and Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Malvern. Photography by Jessica Vermeer Hawkes.
On Friday, September 10, Philadelphia magazine, Philomeno & Salamone Custom Home Builders and The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House welcomed sponsors and friends to Philadelphia magazine’s 2010 Design Home® at the country estate of Gray Fox Farm in Gwynedd Valley. The preview party and ribbon-cutting ceremony kicked off a month of tours and events. Guests enjoyed food by Carlino's Specialty Foods and Catering, Gentleman Jack and Finlandia cocktails and Sonoma-Cutrer and Fetzer wines while making their way through the 12,000 sq. ft home. The Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a lively group of young professionals and art enthusiasts, hosted the 19th-annual Rodin Garden Party Friday, September 10, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is traditionally held at the Rodin Museum, but moved this year to the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building while the Rodin Museum undergoes exterior renovation. Funds raised through this event support the Young Friends' mission of art acquisitions, conservation, and preservation of works in the collections, as well as education and outreach programming. Guests explored Desert Jewels: North African Jewelry and Photography from the Xavier Guerrand-Hermès Collection, featuring objects collected over three decades by the renowned Paris-based fashion empire that illuminate the diversity and beauty of traditional North African jewelry design.
