On Thursday, October 13, 2011, Philadelphia magazine’s G Philly hosted an exclusive cocktail party to honor The New Who’s Who of the LGBT community. Approximately 150 guests gathered at Wells Fargo’s main banking office on Broad Street to celebrate the remarkable impact these Philadelphians have made, and will make, for years to come. Guests were able to explore the MINI Cooper Coupe and the MINI Cooper Countryman models before entering the event, and while inside, they enjoyed cocktails featuring Smirnoff’s two newest flavors—Whipped & Fluffed, Coors Light, and hors d’oeuvres and desserts. On October 10, 2011, golfers were welcomed by Lucky Dog Saloon and Grill and the non-profit organization Jill Just Wants 2 Help for a day of golfing, food and fun at Green Valley Country Club. The event raised more than $90,000 to support awareness for those living with cancer. Sponsored by Physicians National Bank and Pediatric Dental Associates, the event featured a golf tournament, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, and a silent auction. On Sunday, October 9, 2011, walkers came out to the Philadelphia Zoo to participate in the National Kidney Foundation's yearly walk. Patty Jackson of 105.3 FM WDAS acted as the celebrity emcee and Grizz Chapman of 30 Rock, the foundation's national walk spokesperson, visited the event. Photography by Mike Hirata.

On Friday, October 7, 2011, Casa de Venezuela presented its third annual exhibition, Dialogo 365, which kicked off a series of events celebrating Venezuela's bicentennial of independence. On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, Philadelphia magazine and BMW hosted the third installment of their Restaurant Club Dinner Series: All About Wine. During the Fall Harvest-Rhone Wine Dinner, guests at Fork savored a seasonal three-course menu paired with distinctive wines from the Rhone region. Owner Ellen Yin and chef Terence Feury were available to talk about the evening’s special menu. The final dinner of this series will take place in early November.
