Philadelphia Futures and professional baseball players Doug Glanville, Mike Lieberthal, Randy Wolf, Chase Utley and Jason Michaels hosted a celebration to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Sponsor-A-Scholar Program. The event raised funds for Philadelphia Futures who provides inner-city students with support and resources.
 
Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America held a Renaissance Ball on Saturday, May 7th at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing. The Ball was held to support the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley chapter of the CCFA. The evening included cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a sit-down dinner and dancing.
 
Art for Animals was held on May 5th, 2005 at the Snyderman-Works Galleries on Cherry Street in Philadelphia. The event, made possible by the People Pet Partnership, was established to raise funding to help Philadelphia's homeless animals.
 
The Philadelphia Film Society's Film Festival opened on April 7th with a screening of Ferpect Crime at the Prince Music Theater. Opening night festivities were held at Top of the Tower. A Reception for the screening of David Duchovny's film House of D was held on April 8th at the private residence of Allison and William Rulon-Miller.
 
The Academy of Vocal Arts celebrated its 70th Anniversary on April 3, 2005 with "BrAVA Philadelphia! A Concert ExtrAVAganza of Opera Stars." The concert was held at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall and was followed by a reception at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue.The concert featured Met star Aprile Millo, alumni Stuart Neill, Indra Thomas and more. Proceeds benefited the AVA Scholarship Fund.
