Several of this year's city election candidates, including Mayor Michael Nutter and his Republican opponent Karen Brown, took a crack at their stand-up skills on Thursday, August 18, 2011, when they performed at the 21st annual “Stu Bykofsky Candidates Comedy Night,” held at Finnigan's Wake. The event sponsored Variety, a non-profit children's charity that works to earn money for programs designed to provide educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for children with disabilities. The opposing candidates for register of wills, Democratic incumbent Ron Donatucci and Republican Linda W. Batemen, as well as Republican Al Schmidt and Democrat Stephanie Singer of the city commissioners race gave performances at the show. Photography by Zoey Sless-Kitain.
