United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania's Women Initiative played host to the annual gala, Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow on Thursday, March 31, 2011. The program was instituted to foster core values in adolescent girls and protect them from negative influences. The gala was co-hosted by Karen Dougherty Bucholz (Vice President of Administration for Comcast Corporation) and Yvette Bright (Executive Vice Presiden at Independence Blue Cross). The GTLT participants, who range in neighborhoods and backgrounds, were selected by 11 agencies that receive funding from the Women's Initiative for their programs, which help to empower girls.
