Chef Masaharu Morimoto and STARR Restaurants hosted the event, Morimoto for Japan, on June 7, 2011, to raise funds for the Philadelphia-Japan Disaster Relief Fun. While sipping champagne, guests watched Chef Morimoto carve into a 200-pound tuna. The restaurant then offered a five-course Omakase tasting menu paired with drinks to complement the meal. The Freeman's Auction House held a live auction toward the end of the night with packages such as a dinner for 10 prepared by Chef Morimoto, which sold for $21,000. Photographs by Courtney Apple.
