Kimpton's Hotel Palomar Philadelphia hosted "Party in the Parks" with Square 1682 and the Mural Arts Program on Thursday, April 21, 2011. The event featured a recycled art exhibition and silent auction with the proceeds going to The Trust for Public Land, which helps to build parks in cities around the United States. Attendees admired artwork made of various materials such as newspaper and credit cards, while sipping cocktails and nibbling on hors d'oeuvres. The week prior to this event, Hotel Palomar had been conserving energy by turning off their lights for two hours a day and organizing a drive for unwanted electronics. Photography by HughE Dillon.
