Mia Farrow received the 2011 Marian Anderson Award at a Gala Concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Mia Farrow is well-known as an actress in film, television and on stage, but is also recognized as an advocate for human rights, focusing her attention on sub-Saharan Africa. She has traveled to Sudan 13 times, and her writing on genocide has been published in the likes of the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe and LA Times.
