On Saturday, March 19, 2011, Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. (Congreso), Philadelphia’s leading non-profit that works to strengthen the Latino communities, hosted its fifth annual black tie Gala Latina: Chillin’ in Chile. The Gala Latina, an event aimed at connecting Latinos and supporters of the Latino community, showcased Chilean culture with traditional dancers, experts on Chilean wine, a tribute to the 33 miners who survived two months trapped in a mine, and a menu infused with Chilean flavors. The Grand Ballroom at the Bellevue was transformed into a lush Chilean vineyard and will recognize the diverse regions of the country.
