On March 5, 2011, Girard College hosted a fundraiser for the schools educational programs. Renée Chenault-Fattah, newscaster from NBC10, was the mistress of ceremonies for the event and President Graves presented the Corinthian award to Willie F. Johnson, local businessman and community leader. Billed as THE Party with a Purpose, the 2011 “Good Friends” Gala was an enormous success. More than 300 alumni and friends of Girard came out to enjoy a festive evening in beautiful Founder’s Hall, including gourmet hors d’oeuvres and dinner, a brief program and dancing.
