The Hamels Foundations Diamonds and Denim Event

On Thursday, September 23, 2010 Philadelphia Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi Hamels hosted a Diamonds and Denim Event at Union Trust Philadelphia Steakhouse to benefit The Hamels Foundation. All ticket sales went toward Philadelphia school grants in order to help local schools receive equipment or materials they are lacking. All other proceeds raised by the event will go toward building their school in Malawi.The invitation-only event featured cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, silent auction and live auctions hosted by Comcast Sportsnet’s Michael Barkann, a Bernie Robbins diamond giveaway, a stand-up performance by Joe Conklin, and musical performances by Tony Orlando and LeAnne Rimes.
