The future of children's tennis was celebrated by over 900 guests, celebrities and at the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center in Manayunk on Saturday, April 21st. The Hawaiian-theme evening (you'll note the lovely array of flora and fauna worn by guests) was started with a rousing performance by several of the center's children whose lives have been bettered by tennis. The18th annual benefit featured its famous silent and live auctions, with some truly extravagant items; a $25,000 two-week deluxe trip to Australia from Swain Australia Tours); a private dinner for 12 at megachef George Perrier's house; and tickets to the French Open with hotel and airfare. Proceeds from the event benefit 6,000 youngsters throughout the Philadelphia Area.
