The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held the second annual Tennis Auction Ball (much more fun to call it The Tennis Ball though) on Saturday, September 11th at the Four Seasons Hotel. Master of Ceremonies was Frank DeFord, author (remember Everybody's All-American?) and Sports Illustrated senior writer. He also reads a weekly sports column on NPR every Wednesday morning. Even those of us who don't know an interception from our elbows enjoy it. DeFord has served as National Chairman of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the past 16 years, honoring his daughter Alex, who died of the disease.
