Philly’s streets might be a snowy, slushy mess today, but it’s the first day of spring! And that means it’s only a matter of time until we’re eating outside in 70-degree weather (just like we were, you know, a few weeks ago).
You know what else spring means? Of course you do – free Rita’s.

For the 25th year in a row, Rita’s will kick off spring by offering free water ice between 12 and 9 p.m. today. The Philly-born chain plans to hand out about one million cups today – so plan ahead, because you know those line will be long. On the bright side, it’s supposed to get up to 58 degrees – so you won’t necessarily be shivering while you’re waiting.
More good news: if you’re more of an ice-cream person (or if you’re just trying to cash in on all the spring freebies) you might want to stop by Dairy Queen. All non-mall locations are offering one free small vanilla cone.

And finally, a lesser-known reason to celebrate today: it’s National Ravioli Day. Rita’s, ice cream and ravioli might make for an odd combination, but you never know until you try. Consider one of these restaurants. (They aren’t offering any freebies, but still – ravioli!)
I have lunch figured out….It's National Ravioli Day & then FREE Rita's Water Ice for dessert….Followed by a nap !!!
