Report: Joe Biden Will “Set Up Shop” at Penn

The university could become the hub for his post-government work.

Outgoing Vice President Joe Biden will “set up shop” at the University of Pennsylvania after packing up his bags in Washington, D.C., according to Politico Playbook

The news organization reports that Biden is eyeing Penn as “a university to house his staff and his post-government work,” though a spokesperson for Biden declined to comment for the story.

The former Delaware Senator has made several recent trips to Penn – most recently for a Hillary Clinton campaign stop on Election Day. Before that, Biden visited in May for his granddaughter Naomi Biden‘s graduation (as did Donald Trump, for his daughter Tiffany’s graduation), and in January, for the launch of his “cancer moonshoot” initiative at the university’s Abramson Cancer Center.

Biden’s son Beau Biden, who died from brain cancer in May of 2015, graduated from Penn in 1991. He spoke to Philadelphia magazine when he was a freshman at the university, in 1988.

Biden would be joining the alma mater of president-elect Trump. Maybe he’ll ease some of the embarrassment the community is feeling right now.
