WATCH: SUV-Assisted Smash-and-Grab at Boyds Center City

Suspects backed a red Toyota RAV4 into the window of the store around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday in the second high-profile criminal incident in Center City within a week.

Philadelphia police have released security-camera footage of a robbery that occurred at Boyds in Center City early Tuesday morning when suspects backed an SUV into the store’s front window and made off with a number of expensive clothing items and accessories.

According to police, suspects backed a red 2016 Toyota RAV4 into the window of the store around 4:40 a.m., then used the broken window to gain access. Accomplices were also seen driving a silver 2012 Mercedes Benz S350.

Police say the RAV4 should have significant rear-end damage as a result. All of the suspects had their faces covered and were wearing black or gray hooded sweatshirts.

The is the second high-profile criminal incident in Center City within the past week. On October 18th, a man attempting to stop an armed robbery was shot in Rittenhouse Square.
