A former top aide to three Pennsylvania governors was charged with assaulting and harassing his wife after an alleged incident this past weekend.

Charles Zogby, 54, has served under three Republican governors, including Tom Corbett. Police were called to Zogby’s home in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania last Saturday evening following an alleged physical altercation with his wife, 52-year-old Georgiana Zogby, according to the York Dispatch.

The Associated Press reports that police arrived at the home to find Georgiana with blood on her face and hands, and she told police that her husband had punched and choked her.

When police asked Charles Zogby how his wife became injured, he responded with, “Ask Georgina,” according to the York Dispatch.

Fairview Township Police Chief Jason Loper told the newspaper that police had been called to the home several times in the past two years because of domestic disputes.

Zogby was released on $2,500 unsecured bond and is awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 29th.

Zogby has served under Govs. Corbett, Tom Ridge and Mark Schweiker. He was formerly Pennsylvania’s budget secretary and education secretary.
