VIDEO: Man Wanted for Stealing Municipal Vehicle in Northeast

Police are still searching for the suspect and city truck.

An unidentified male stole a municipal vehicle from Northeast Philadelphia in broad daylight, and the entire theft was caught on camera. Police are seeking the public’s help in apprehending the suspect.

On June 2nd at 2:30 in the afternoon, the unknown man entered the Bridge Maintenance Unit at 4010 Whitaker Avenue. The vehicle was stolen while the driver/employee was inside the building, according to police reports. The suspect is described by police as a white male with red hair; he was wearing a dark shirt, jean shorts and a tan baseball hat at the time of the theft.

The surveillance video shows the man trying to break into several parked municipal vehicles before successfully entering a 2008 Ford F-350 Superduty. He immediately fled with the white truck. Police are still searching for the suspect and vehicle (license plate read PA# MG-7186D).
