A minivan with a child inside was stolen this morning in West Philly, police say. The child was found a short time later on the steps of a private residence.

Philly.com reports the abduction happened at 7:51 a.m.: A father left his 4-month-old child in a white Town and Country minivan while he ran inside a store in the 4800 block of Walnut. He left the van running; the vehicle was stolen while he was inside.

About an hour later, police reported the child had been found on the steps of a home at Penn and Green streets. The child appeared uninjured, but was being taken to St. Christopher Hospital for evaluation.
