PennDOT Lifts Snowtime Speed Restrictions on Philly-Area Expressways

Drivers had been limited to 45 mph since Friday.

The winter storm speed restriction on Philly-area expressways has been lifted, PennDOT announced Sunday afternoon.

Drivers had been limited to 45 mph on such roads since Friday; the normal speed limits have now been restored.

Some care should still be used by drivers. The agency said it is continuing to treat snowy roadways throughout the area. Motorists should allow plenty of space to plow trucks, and should not try to pass PennDOT trucks that are plowing or spreading road salt.
