Cops: Women Steal $8,200 from Lady’s Purse Outside Reading Terminal Market

It happened on October 22nd.

Police are looking for suspects in a theft that took place on Arch Street outside the market back on October 22nd around noon. According to police, a 56-year-old woman withdrew cash from Asian Bank down the street and stuffed the cash inside her purse.

As she walked west on Arch Street toward the market, a woman approached her, asking for the location of a pharmacy. As they continued walking, two more women approached, and one asked to see the woman’s purse. When the con was all said and done, the woman realized that the cash inside her purse was gone.

And this wasn’t grocery money. No, the woman reported that she had $8,200 in cash stolen from the purse.

Police describe two of the three women as follows:

Suspect #1: Asian female wearing a flowered scarf on her shoulders.

Suspect #2: Asian female wearing a jean jacket and black pants.
