SEPTA has announced a 3-day online lottery for passengers wishing to ride the Norristown High Speed Line or the 101/102 trolley routes during the weekend of the pope’s visit.

Similarly, regional rail tickets were distributed with a similar lottery last week. There are still 22,000 tickets available, despite high demand crashing the first attempt at selling Pope passes.

The 3-day transit passes will be valid for the Norristown High-Speed Line, the Route 101 and 102 trolleys and connecting service on the Market-Frankford Line on September 26th and 27th. On Monday, September 27th, the passes will be good for any SEPTA service besides Regional Rail.

The NHSL and the 101/102 trolleys will only make two stops on each line. The passes will be limited and passengers will have to leave in certain timeframes.

  • Route 101: Springfield Mall, Leamy Avenue
  • Route 102: North Street, Clifton-Aldan
  • Norristown High-Speed Line: Gulph Mills, Villanova

SEPTA will release a link to register for the lottery beginning August 12th. You’ll have three days to register. Passes are $10 ($5 for those eligible for reduced fares) and carry a $1.95 shipping fee.

SEPTA says it will release more information about Subway-Surface trolleys, bus, Market-Frankford El and Broad Street Subway service during pope week after this lottery concludes next week.
