Pat Gallen Leaving 97.5 The Fanatic for CBS3
We don’t know if the staff losses at CBS3 are over yet, but the replacements are clearly on the way: Pat Gallen, a three-year veteran of 97.5 the Fanatic and multiple other local media outlets, announced on Twitter he is leaving radio to become a sports anchor and reporter for the TV station. Gallen says he’ll start next week.

I'm no longer with 97.5 the Fanatic, but I enjoyed the hell out of the 3+ years I was there. Made some great friends.

Now I get to play Ron Burdgundy in real life – except sports. Time to go suit shopping! pic.twitter.com/nrsZu7sTWp

A spokesperson for CBS3 confirms that Gallen will be joining the station as an anchor and reporter on a freelance basis. The announcement comes a week after longtime CBS mainstays Chris May, Kathy Orr and Beasley Reece parted ways with the station, followed by meteorologist Carole Erickson. The shakeup came amid low ratings for the station’s newscasts.
In addition to 97.5, Gallen has served locally as the editor of the Phillies Nation website, created sports-themed videos for Philly.com, and was previously an anchor and reporter at 97.3, ESPN’s radio outlet in Atlantic City. He started his career as a summer production intern for Comcast Networks.
