The Best Thing That Happened This Week: The NRA Took a Hit

State Senator Daylin Leach called it “a gift to the National Rifle Association.” Mayor Nutter called it “legislative madness.” Lancaster mayor Richard Gray called it “nothing more than an attempt by the NRA and the gun lobby to bully smaller communities — and larger communities.” And now Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court has called Act 192, the shoddy and shameless bill letting the NRA sue any municipality that dared to tiptoe toward firearms sanity, “unconstitutional and void.” Glory be. What with Ann Coulter griping to New York magazine that nobody is pissed off at her anymore, the AMA’s plan to ass-whip Dr. Oz, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s Obamacare affirmation, it’s almost like somebody sneaked some common sense into the drinking water hereabouts.
