Warminster Police released surveillance footage of the poor box burglar.

A burglar smashed a window on a side door and stole from several poor boxes in a church in Bucks County, Warminster police said.

A maintenance man for the Nativity of Our Lord Church discovered the break-in before the 6:30 mass Tuesday morning, the Bucks County Courier Times reported. Rev. Angelo Citino canceled mass so police could investigate the break-in. Not only did this robber steal money from the poor box, he caused a mass to be canceled!

“There’s something in their lives that makes them desperate to go to that extreme,” Citino told the Courier Times. “You would hope that the person would be caught so that he doesn’t do this to other churches or other people; or so that someone could find out what’s wrong with him that’s making him do this. If he has a problem with addictions or anything like that, maybe by being caught he’ll — whether willingly or not — get help.”

Warminster police describe the burglar as a male with dark-colored hair wearing cargo pants. Cargo pants! Another strike against him.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance video, Warminster police ask you to call them at 215-343-0100. Tips can be anonymous.
