WATCH: New Sixer Isaiah Canaan Hits Amazing Shot

Isaiah Canaan beat the shot clock for an unbelievable score in the first half of Monday's game against Miami.

Isaiah Canaan was acquired from the Rockets last Thursday at the NBA trade deadline, and he’s already the team’s starting point guard. The 2013 second-round draft pick scored in double figures both games he’s played for the Sixers.

Late in the first half against the Miami Heat last night, Canaan fired up a prayer with the shot clock running down and banked it in. Originally ruled a three, it was a two-point bucket that put the Sixers down a point heading into halftime.

Though Canaan’s shot brought the Sixers within 1 at the end of the first half last night, Miami dominated the third quarter and built a lead as large as 21 in the second. Luol Deng scored 29 for Miami. Hollis Thompson led the Sixers with 22; Nerlens Noel had 18 points and 7 rebounds.

The Sixers play next in Milwaukee on Wednesday. They are currently 12-44, and would have the second-best odds at winning the NBA Draft Lottery if they finished in their current position. The Knicks are 10-45.
