In recent weeks, we told you about the armed robberies of two popular Philadelphia retail stores: Walnut Street’s Ubiq and Point Breeze coffee shop Ultimo. Well, on Wednesday afternoon, Philadelphia police announced the arrest of one man for both crimes.
20-year-old Quontail Silver of Point Breeze has been charged with robbery and other offenses.
Police say he robbed Ubiq on the afternoon of January 14th, taking cash and three bags of shoes. Less than a week later, he’s alleged to have turned up at Ultimo, fleeing with an undetermined amount of money. He lives just a few blocks from the cafe. Police say he used a handgun in both robberies, and no injuries were reported.
Silver was arrested in Powelton Village on Tuesday by United States marshalls, working with Philadelphia police. Bail has been set at $250,000.
