That's a lot of cookies.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman has announced the arrest of former local Girl Scouts leader Heather Lynn Belford, 30, of Collegeville, on charges that she stole more than $10,000 from a Girl Scout troop and a Cub Scout pack.

According to a statement released by Ferman, Belford used one Cub Scout pack’s ATM card for personal use while she was committee chair of that group, for a total of 13 transactions totaling $3,411.28 during June 2014. And she’s also being charged with stealing $7,318.88 from Girl Scout Troop 7343, also using that troop’s ATM card, in 41 unauthorized transactions between April and June 2014. Belford was that troop’s leader from August 2013 through June 2014.

Belford was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Rebar, who set bail at just $5,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 4th at 9 a.m.
