Snow In Philly: No Trash Pickup on Tuesday

Tuesday collections will be delayed by a week.

Just as the snow was starting to stick on Monday morning in Philadelphia, we got word that there won’t be any trash pickup in the city on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Streets Department is scrambling to get through Monday trash collection before the heavy stuff comes in. (Recycling just picked up in my neighborhood; trash is still there.) Later in the day, the Streets Department will be converting their trash trucks into snow plows.

Residents who normally have trash collection on Tuesdays are being asked to hold all trash and recycling until next Tuesday. Hopefully, we won’t have a repeat of last winter, when some residents went weeks on end without trash pickup.
