Cops Seek Center City Dollar Store Robber

Police are looking for a man who they say robbed the Dollar Tree on the 1500 block of Chestnut Street on Saturday. He had a gun.

A man who claimed he had a gun held up the Dollar Tree at 15th and Chestnut on Saturday.

Police say the man entered the store and handed the cashier a threatening note, telling the employee he had a gun. In the surveillance video released by police, he appears to pull his one hand out of his jacket pocket, as if to show the cashier the gun. After he received an undetermined amount of cash from the register, the man fled the store on foot, going west on Chestnut Street.

Before fleeing, though, he casually strolled out of the place counting his haul.

Black male, dark complexion, late teens to early 20 years-of-age, 5’6”, thin build, wearing a black hooded jacket with the hood up, partial mask on lower part of his face, blue jeans, tan boots
