Casinos: Valley Forge CEO Suspended, SugarHouse Fined for Underage Incidents
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board suspended Valley Forge Casino’s CEO 15 days for waving two 20-year-old women through a security guard ID checkpoint.
Michael Bowman must also attend eight hours of training and — the horror! — write a letter of apology to Valley Forge Casino employees. (He’s actually already completed this step.) He’s also being docked two weeks pay.
Bowman admitted helping two hotel and banquet guests to the floor, thinking they were at least 30. Turns out they were 20. They didn’t gamble or drink while on the floor, but Bowman was nailed with the (apparently somewhat large, for a casino CEO) penalty.
The Gaming Control Board also fined SugarHouse for two separate underage gambling incidents. In one, a 19-year-old gambled at table games after showing the ID of another person to a bouncer. An 18-year-old was allowed to play the slots in the other. SugarHouse was fined $20,000 for the incident.
The Inquirer reports the 19-year-old lost $60 while playing blackjack. At least he learned how casinos work at a young age!
