Terry Gillen to Announce Mayoral Run

Former aide to Nutter, Rendell will take aim at office in her own right.

It’s (almost) official: Terry Gillen will be making a run for mayor.

The Daily News reports the announcement will come on Saturday morning in her Center City neighborhood. She has previously served high-profile, unelected positions with Mayors Nutter and Rendell.

“I think that whole notion of how one gets elected in Philly is going away,” Gillen told the paper. “It’s changing. I think Mayor Nutter’s election was the beginning of that. And I think we’re really on the verge of reshaping Philadelphia politics in a fundamental way.”

Philly Mag interviewed Gillen about her mayoral prospects back in June.
