Revel Nightclub Operator Makes Pitch to Keep Clubs Open

HQ Nightclub and HQ Beach Club, which were popular, submitted an 88-page court filing in an attempt to remain open even though Revel has closed.

The owner of the HQ clubs at the Revel casino is attempting to re-open them even though the Revel is closed for good. Idea Boardwalk L.L.C. filed papers in bankruptcy court saying the nightclubs could feasibly remain open, since they have separate entrances.

The HQ Nightclub got enough cache in its two short years to land on DJMag’s top 100 nightclubs list, and both clubs were packed with partiers on the casino’s final day.

The Inquirer adds:

The company conducted tours with top officials of the Atlantic City Fire Department in mid-August to demonstrate that the facilities could operate safely without access to the casino and met with lawyers for the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to formally request permission to stay in business at the $2.4 billion casino.

Selling prodigious amounts of alchohol was a key part of HQ business.

If the clubs stayed open, 90 jobs could be saved.
