Copter Crashes at Jersey Shore

Report suggests that one person injured in accident.

NBC10 is reporting that one person was injured in a helicopter crash at the Jersey Shore.

The chopper crashed behind Court House Pizza off Route 9 in a grassy area off South Boyd Street.

“We heard a noise, kind of like, well imagine a loud fan that was being hit by something,” said David Smith who works at Court House Pizza, about 100 yards away from the crash site. “We heard the sirens and ran outside and found the chopper on the ground near a house in the soccer field.”

Smith says emergency crews were on the scene almost immediately.

The helicopter had been scheduled to spray for mosquitoes this morning. More news as developments warrant.
